About QR Repair
QR Repair is a small, single-purpose tool. It takes a QR image that no longer scans — blurred, cropped, covered or crushed by compression — and recovers the exact data it holds, or tells you plainly why it can’t.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. The page loads a decoder compiled to WebAssembly, tries a series of image reconstruction passes, and relies on the error correction built into every QR code to restore damaged modules. When a payload is recovered and verified, a new code is generated from it on your device.
The decoding is built on open-source work, including ZXing-C++, jsQR and node-qrcode.
What we will not do
- Upload your images.
- Guess, or “complete”, a payload that cannot be read exactly.
- Ask you to sign up.

Found a code you think we should be able to read? Tell us about it. Describe the image rather than attaching it, unless you are comfortable sharing it.
